Arad traditional products will be exposed at the highest profile international fair on food and agriculture which will take place in late January in Berlin.
Romania is, in 2012, official partner of Germany at "Green Week", following an agreement signed last year in Berlin.
With the Romanian delegation a group of five traditional producers from Arad County will participate at the fair that will bring in the German capital Bread of Pecica, Nadlac salami, jam of Aldeşti and homemade noodles. Also, a folk artist from Arad will exhibit naive and religious painting on glass.
"Arad’s Traditional Products were assessed last year at the" Green Week" in Berlin, and this year, with the Romanian delegation, we will be as official partners of the organizers", said Marinela Petrean, president of the Association of traditional producers "Arădeanca" from Arad.
The delegation will receive support from Arad’s County Council which has allocated 25,000 lei for the trip to Berlin.
"Last year, visitors to the exhibition appreciated Arad products as interesting in terms of taste and origin, while the quality was declared very good," said Ana Maria Dragos, Director of Arad County Cultural Center.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, "Green Week" is the most important international exhibition in the world in food, agriculture and horticulture and is held in Berlin from 20 to 29 January 2012. Every year, Germany has as a partner in organizing this event a participating country. In 2012, Romania will assume partner status, with all responsibilities and opportunities.
"With the country acting as a partner, Romanian companies present in the pavilion will have better visibility and promotion and will be able to successfully enter the German market", stated a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Due to the status of partner country in organizing this important international event, the Romanian pavilion will be in an area of approximately 1,000 sqm of Messe Berlin Exhibition Complex.
